Rating: 88-89 Bob Campbell, MW
Rating: 88 Tim Atkin MW: 2016 Argentina Special Report

Grape Variety: 100% Malbec.

Origin: 60% Perdriel, Lujn de Cuyo | 40% Gualtallary, Tupungato (both Mendoza, Argentina).

Aging: 12 months in oak barrels (60% French and 40% American).

Alcohol: 14.7%.

Tasting Notes: The colour of this intense Malbec is a deep red with attractive purple and crimson hues. On the nose, we encounter notes of red fruits such as raspberries and strawberries as well as black fruits and spices such as pepper. Its attractive finale and body is given by its good structure and vibrant tannins.

Pairing: Excellent pairings include steak and any grilled red meat; burgers with cheese including blue cheese; red meat empanadas; mixed grill (beef, sausage, etc.); roasted lamb; pasta with tomato and beef sauce; pizza with a variety of hearty toppings; and Cajun spiced pumpkin stew.

Serving Temperature: 15 to 18C or slightly cooler than room temperature.
