Toscana IGT (Super Tuscan) 2007

This wine has been produced at Montagliari in very limited quantities since the late 18th century. Around the 1920s, the predecessor of the current owners named it “Brunesco,” referring to the robust nature and color of this wine.

Grape Variety: Sangioveto (aka Sangiovese Piccolo).

Origin: Greve in Chianti.

Aging: The wine is aged in small Slovenian oak casks for six months and then matured slowly in the bottle.

Alcohol: 15.5%.

Tasting Notes: Colour: Ruby red with amber tendencies. Bouquet: Cooked fruit, liquorice, vanilla, caramel, quince, menthol. Palate: Well structured, with fine-grained, lingering tannins and a persistent vanilla/wood finish.

Food pairing: Hearty, spicy pasta and rice dishes, aged cheeses, red meats, game, steak, stews, braised meats.

Serving temperature: Between 18 and 20 degrees. It is best uncorked at least one hour before serving.
