Foral de Meda Branco Douro DOC 2014

Origin: Meda | Douro Superior (sub-region of Douro wine region).

Grape Varieties: Viosinho, Rabigato and Gouveio.

Ageing: No oak aging.

Alcohol: 13%.

Tasting Notes: Pale citrine color. Fresh, citrusy flavor and even some tropical notes. In the mouth, it is fresh with well-balanced acidity.

Food Pairing: Try with grilled fish dishes; light mixed salads; shellfish such as stone crab, mussels and clams; bacalhau (salt cod); light chicken and rabbit dishes made with white sauces; and pasta with vegetables and cheese; mushroom omelet; goat cheese and Brie or Camembert.

Serving Temperature: 8-10°C (chilled).

Foral de Meda Tinto Douro DOC 2013

Origin: Meda | Douro Superior (sub-region of Douro wine region).

Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Amarela.

Ageing: 12 months in French oak barrels.

Alcohol: 14%.

Tasting Notes: Vivid dark red color with violet hues. Lively aromas of fresh, ripe red fruit, especially red currants and cherries, with hints of cocoa and spices. The palate is well balanced between tannins and fruity flavour. Pleasant, medium-long finish.

Food Pairing: Great everyday wine to accompany stews, pot roast, lamb, veal, pastas and salads.

Kasta Tinto Douro DOC 2012

Origin: Meda | Douro Superior (sub-region of Douro wine region).

Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Tinto Cão.

Ageing: 12 months in French oak barrels.

Alcohol: 13.5%.

Tasting Notes: Intense ruby red colour with hints of violet. On the nose, ripe red fruit, chocolate and spices are present, along with soft woody nuances. Elegant on the palate with good acidity and velvety tannins, resulting in a well-structured and harmonious wine.

Food Pairing: Excellent with simple meat dishes, salt cod dishes with potatoes or Portuguese cornbread, pasta, and pizza. Try with Portuguese sheep's milk cheese.

Quinta Vale D'Aldeia Red DOC 2013

Food Pairing: Try with roasted kid goat; veal chops; stewed rabbit; heavier salt cod dishes made with potatoes, boiled eggs, cornbread, etc.; and Portuguese sheep’s milk cheese such as Castelo Branco.

Tasting Notes: Deep red colour. Very concentrated aroma of ripe red fruits, berries, black cherries, and subtle wood notes. Elegant on the palate with good acidity, this wine is well structured and harmonious. Persistent velvety tannins on the long finish.

Food Pairing: Goes well with red meat dishes including sirloin steak and roasted or stewed beef, lamb, or game (venison, wild boar). Try with an earthy goat cheese.

Ageing: 18 months in French oak new barrels and for 6 months in the bottle.

Tasting Notes: Intense Dark purple red color. A very concentrated aroma, combination of ripe red fruit, cacao and spices with soft wood notes. Elegant on the palate with a good acidity and velvety tannins, resulting in a well-structured and harmonious wine.

Food Pairing: Try with rich game such as venison or wild boar; roasted or stewed beef; dishes accompanied by earthy wild mushrooms; rich, cheeesy pasta dishes; and cured, hard goat cheese such as Queijo de Cabra Transmontano.

Serving Temperature: To get the best from this wine, it must be decanted and served at 18º C.
