Falgaroso Tinto Douro DOC 2012
$16.95 plus HST and 20-cent deposit

Origin: Soutelo do Douro | So Joo da Pesqueira | Cima Corgo (sub-region of Douro wine region).

Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca.

Ageing: Aged in French and American oak barrels.

Alcohol: 13.5%.

Tasting Notes: Brilliant ruby colour. Intense and fruit-forward aromas with notes of vanilla. Full-bodied, with fine tannins, well-integrated oak, and lush, ripe fruit on the long finish.

Food Pairing: Serve with grilled and roasted red meats. Following a Portuguese custom, try it with the national fish bacalhau (cod)!

Serving Temperature: 16-18C (room temperature).

Reserva Douro DOC 2011
$21.95 plus HST and 20-cent deposit

Origin: Soutelo do Douro | So Joo da Pesqueira | Cima Corgo (sub-region of Douro wine region).

Grape Varieties: 50% Touriga Nacional, 25% Touriga Franca, 20% Tinta Roriz e 5% Tinta Barroca.

Ageing: Aged in 225-liter French and American oak barrels for 12 months.

Alcohol: 14.5%.

Tasting Notes: Intense and brilliant garnet color. Persistent aromas of ripe forest berries with very subtle notes of wood. Taste: Well structured and full bodied; very soft on the finish.

Food Pairing: Serve with grilled and roasted meat, game, good beef steaks and strong cheeses.

Serving Temperature: 16-18C (room temperature). The aromas will "open" if you let the wine breathe a bit after drawing the cork. Carefully decant the wine a few minutes before serving.
